Born as Amy Louise Sedaris on March 29, 1961, she is an American, actress, comedian and writer famous for voicing the character of Princess Carolyn in a Netflix animated series BoJack Horseman. Sedaris was born in Endicott, New York and was raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. Her father is Greek Orthodox and her mother was a Protestant. She was raised in her father’s Orthodox faith.
She was 16 when she worked at the local Winn-Dixie supermarket. She used to make fake announcements over the loudspeaker, leading the head cashier to snatch the microphone and threaten firing her. After work, she egged the cashier’s car as a protest. She later worked as a cocktail waitress at Zanies Comedy Club in Chicago, Illinois. She was fired from the job for reporting five minutes late. Sedaris has appeared on various TV programs, such as Rescue Me, Monk Wonder Snowzen, Just Shoot Me! Sex and the City, My Name is Earl, the Closer, The Middle, The New Adventures of Old Christine, Raising Hope and Sesame Street. Sedaris was also the host of the series Film Fanatic on Trio.
Sedaris was seen on numerous talk shows such as the Late Show with David Letterman, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and WTF with Marc Maron. In the year 2008, Sedaris appeared on Chelsea Lately during which she made a presentation regarding vaginal hygiene to the host Chelsea Handler by using a plush vagina created by fashion designer Todd Oldham.
Sedaris and her co-star from Strangers With Candy, Paul Dinello dated and lived together for eight years. After the end of their affair, they still continue being very close friends.
