Are you ready to follow the steps to this simple eye and purple lips makeup tutorial? Let’s get started!

Step 1

Apply face primer for a smooth finish. This step is essential if you want to achieve perfect-looking skin.

Step 2

Use an illuminating cream to give your skin a healthy glow.

Step 3

To get rid of the dark under eye circles, apply a color corrector underneath the eyes.

Step 4

Since we’re going for a simple makeup look, BB cream will be better than foundation. BB cream is lightweight, tinted and offers benefits for healthy, clear skin.

Step 5

To achieve flawless skin, apply concealer under the eyes, on the T-Zone and cupid’s bow. This will highlight those areas.

Step 6

Now it’s time to set our makeup with a setting powder.

Step 7

Using a contour stick, draw a line underneath the cheekbones to give your face more definition.

Step 8

It’s time to bake! Apply translucent powder under the eyes, bridge of the nose, forehead, and cupid’s bow. After a minute of baking, blend the contour stick smoothly onto the cheeks, then blend the powder.

Step 9

Reset this layer of makeup with your setting powder.

Step 10

To give the face more structure, apply contour powder around the edge of the face, hollow of the cheeks, jawline, and bridge of the nose.

Step 11

Use your translucent powder again to draw a line underneath the cheekbones. This line will accentuate the contour you’ve just created.

Step 12

Fill in the brows. Keep it clean and natural looking.

Step 13

Apply eye primer to prevent creasing and to extend the wearability of your makeup.

Step 14

Pick a caramel brown shade and apply this on the outer corners of the crease, working your way inside.

Step 15

Now pick a dark plum/brown eyeshadow and apply this over the caramel you applied earlier. Start on the outer corner of the eyes. The dark shade can be harsh so use some caramel to diffuse the darkness and blend properly.

Step 16

Now apply a silver shimmery eyeshadow over the lids.

Step 17

Apply black eyeliner on the upper lash line and create a small wing.

Step 18

Using the same dark plum/brown eyeshadow, lightly run the color under the lower lash line.

Step 19

Curl and apply mascara on the upper and lower lashes.

Step 20

For a more dramatic look, apply your favorite false eyelashes.

Step 21

Shape the lips with lip liner and blend. Apart from shaping your lips, lip liners also keep your lip color in tact and in place.

Now to the fun part: purple lipstick!

For some finishing touches, put some pink shimmery eyeshadow on the tear ducts as this will brighten the eyes.

Step 24

Lastly, dab some highlighter (powder formula) on the high points of the cheeks and nose.

Now you’re ready for a night about town.

What do you think of this purple lipped look? After going through each step, I was surprised to see that the makeup still looks natural and simple. While purple eyeshadow and lipstick may seem like a lot, the finished result is completely, utterly awesome!

Prepare the skin by cleansing it to remove impurities.

Step 2

Moisturize.

Step 3

Prepare the lips for lipstick by applying a rich lip balm. By the time you get to the lipstick portion of the tutorial, your lips will be hydrated.

Step 4

Now’s the time to put on primer. Always prime the face to help the foundation stay on longer and to minimize shine.

Step 5

Time for foundation! In this tutorial, 2 shades of the Lorac POREfection Foundation were used.

To create warmth and a slight contour, use the lighter shade on the center of the face and the darker shade on the edges.

Step 6

Lightly set the foundation with finishing powder.

Step 7

Fill in the brows. In the tutorial, 2 different brow pencil shades were used to create a more natural-looking brow. Take the lighter shade first and fill in the gaps of your brows with short, light strokes.

Take the darker brow pencil and use it on the outer edges of the brows.

When shaping your brows, trace an imaginary diagonal line from the side of the nostril to the outer corner of your eye. This will dictate where your eyebrows should end.

Step 8

Now take Lorac Behind the Scenes Eye Primer and apply it on the lids with a flat synthetic brush.

Step 9

Using the Lorac Unzipped Gold palette, apply the color Unleashed at the center of the lid.

Apply Uninhibited on the inner corner of the eyes as a brightener.

Apply Unlocked underneath the brow bone. Be sure to blend, blend, blend.

Now take Undeniable and apply it on the lid to the crease, over the colors you’ve already put down. Blend everything out to make sure there are no hard lines.

Step 10

Apply Undeniable on the lower lash line and smudge. Clean up excess eyeshadow with a Beauty Blender, being sure to sweep the makeup in an upward motion. This will give your eyes an almond shape. For more tips on eye contouring, click here.

Step 11

Use Unedited and apply it on the outer corner of the upper lid, crease, and lower lash line.

Step 12

Using Lorac Front of the Line PRO Eye Pencil (Bronze), apply a smudged line from the inner to outer corner of the eye.

Follow the eyeliner with a thin line of black liquid eyeliner (feel free to use your favorite. Mine is L’Oreal Lineur Intense). Work the color into the root of the lashes.

Step 13

Curl the lashes.

Step 14

Apply Lorac Cobra Mascara. Work the spoolie from the roots to tips; that’s it, ladies: roots to tips.

Step 15

Now’s the time to apply falsies! In this tutorial, Johny used Ardell individual lashes in short and medium. Alternate between the short and medium lashes to give them a fuller, natural appearance.

Seal the deal with mascara.

Step 16

Apply concealer underneath the eyes and smooth it out with a damp Beauty Blender. Re-apply Undeniable on the lower lash line.

Step 17

Apply highlighter; in this tutorial, we used Lorac Light Source Highlighter (Twilight).

If going with powder highlighter, take a small blush brush and apply it 3/4 of the way down your cheekbones.

Create an imaginary C around the eyes to make the highlight look natural.

Step 18

Ready to contour those cheeks? First take Lorac POREfection Baked Perfecting Powder and apply it just below the cheekbones with a big, fluffy brush.

Also apply the bronzer on your jawline, forehead, and bridge of your nose.

Step 19

Apply a warm blush on the apples of the cheeks. I recommend MAC Mineralize Blush in Warm Soul.

Step 20

For the lips, use a rose brown matte lip color. We used Lorac PRO Matte Lip Color (Rose Brown) as the base and topped it with Lorac Alter Ego Lip Gloss (Duchess) for some shine.

Clean the edges with the same brush you used to apply concealer.

Contour under the cheekbones, forehead (near the hairline), along the jawline, and outlining the bridge of your nose.

Step 4. Bake Your Face

Apply translucent powder under the eyes and cheekbones, right below your contour. Also apply above your lips, on your chin and down the center of your nose. Blend it out. The point of baking is to create the bone structure you’ve always wanted.
Contour under the cheekbones, forehead (near the hairline), along the jawline, and outlining the bridge of your nose.

Step 5. Eyes

When it comes to Instagram makeup, nude is in. Take your favorite nude shadow and use it to define your crease.

Apply a lighter shade as highlighter under your eyebrows’ arch for definition.

Apply a darker brown shade to your lids.

Take that same dark brown shade and line your lower lash line with it.

Step 6. Winged Eyeliner

You know what to do.

Step 7. Mascara and False Eyelashes

Step 8. Brows

Fill your brows in the Instagram way: dark and defined.

Step 9. Clean

Blend any excess powder.

Step 10. Re-touch the Contour

Re-touch the contour below the cheekbones, on the forehead (near the hairline), along the jawline, the bridge and tip of your nose.

Step 11. Blush

Apply lightly on the cheekbones.

Step 12. Highlight Your Face

Apply highlight on top of your cheekbones, middle of the nose, and inner corner of your eyes.

Step 13. Lips

Use a lip liner to shape your lips. Since we’re doing Instagram makeup, don’t be afraid to over-line your lips for a fuller, K. Jenner effect.

Apply your lip color of choice or, to stick with the theme of the day, go for a nude, matte lipstick.

Brush your hair to remove tangles.

Step 2

Part your hair in the center and bring it forward.

Step 3

Tie one section of your hair with an elastic band. Keep an elastic on hand for the next step.

Step 4

Grab a rectangular section of your hair and twist it away from your face three times.

Step 5

Grab some hair from both sections, add them to the section you’ve just divided and start twisting. Twist the hair away from your face and make sure it’s twist. Keep doing this until you’ve reached the bottom of your hair.

You’re essentially creating a French braid.

Step 6

When you get to the end, make sure there are no bumps and if there are, go back and sort them out.

Step 7

Braid your hair all the way down and secure it with an elastic band.

Step 8

Repeat Steps 1 -7 for the other side.

Step 9

Grab the two braids you’ve created and tie them into a ponytail.

Step 10

Secure any loose hairs with a bobby pin.

Step 11

Grab one braid and tie it around the other; secure it with a bobby pin.

Step 12

Lightly spray L’oreal Elnett Satin Hairspray to secure your hairstyle.

Step 13

Grab the remaining braid and twist it in the opposite direction. Tuck the end into your bun and secure it with a bobby pin.

Step 14

Pin any loose sections to make the hairstyle look sleek and clean.

Step 15

Apply more hairspray.
Tip: For fly-aways near the ears, spray the hairspray onto your fingers first and apply it onto the hair that way.

Applying make-up for woman with Asian heritage; women with the so-called ‘almond shaped eye may be a hard task. Experimenting and finding the right make-up for your face type is always an experience. But sometimes it doesn’t end well. Here are the best and easiest make up tips for women with Asian eyes. These tips will help you to save some time and emphasize your beautiful facial features.

– Choose more “girly” colors. The natural or no make-up look is very trendy now and a favorite look for many women. But let’s be honest; they aren’t the best ideas for almond-eyed Asian ladies. You are going to want to transform your naturally pale face where you achieve a more radiant and glowing look with the right lipsticks and blushes and treatments for your eyes. Using pink lipstick for your fresh, everyday look. Or you can apply classic, dark red shades for the evening and combine that with eye make up that gives you that smoky black/grey look. Wow!

– If your skin tone is uneven because of acne, wrinkles or other flaws, don’t forget to use a skin tone corrector. When choosing a foundation, use the lightest formula you can find. The foundation that works best on Asian skin is yellow-toned. It will give you a truly natural look. If you are wanting to make your face look thin, try contouring your face using two different shades of foundation. Apply the darker shades on the natural indents of your face.

– Smoky eye. Who said this make up doesn’t work on Asian eyes? Women with monolids can use it with confidence, because this type of eye make-up looks just gorgeous on them! Choose the level of “smokiness” you want to achieve and try it on. Experiment with warm brown shadows applying them underneath and apply black on top. If you want to achieve more casual smoky eye, apply black closer to the lash line. Or put it further away from the lash line for a more “dramatic” look.

– If you’re a woman with medium thick lid, define the beauty of your eyes by contouring them. First, apply a highlighter on your inner corners and along the browbones. Use a brown tone and carefully sweep it from outer corners towards the inner ones (drawing the “rainbow”). In addition, apply black eyeliner closer to the lash line. Don’t forget about mascara.

– Make your dark eyes look even deeper and more mysterious. For this effect you will need two different eyeliners: a black one and the other one according to your color preferences. Let’s try to make a double eye lining check. Firstly apply black eyeliner to make an accent on your eyes. Then continue adding an extra color. Options: you can choose a color according to your current outfit. Also, you can add shimmering, silver or combine 2 different shades (the main color doesn’t have to be black all the time. By the way, try matching green with blue or violet, these colors look good together, especially on almond-shaped eyes.

– Eyebrows. As we all know, brows can impact our whole look. Successfully defined brows will make your whole look awesome while brows defined incorrectly can destroy it. Asian women tend to have dark or black thick hair which contrasts with their pale skin. So every stray brow hair can be noticeable. Don’t hesitate to use different correction techniques like tweezing or waxing to make your brows look defined and flawless. If you have sparse brows, fill them using pencils and brushes. Always use a shade or two lighter than your natural one.

– Lashes. No matter what ethnicity a woman is, she’s dreaming of longer and thicker eyelashes. We all know what an eyelash curler is, right? What to do when it doesn’t work properly? Here’s a tip: warm the curler up using a blow dryer for about 3-4 seconds. Now test it with fingers before using it on your lashes. Apply a few coats of mascara and curl your lashes.
