Emily Alyn Lind was born in Chicago in 2002. Lind is the daughter of assistant director John Lind and One Three Hill star Barbara Alyn Woods. She has two sisters, Natalie and Alyvia, who are also actresses.
The aspiring actress got her first onscreen appearance when she was only six years old. She landed on her film debut as the young Lily Owens in the 2008 film The Secret Life of Bees. Following her appearance, she starred in other films such as Enter the Void, Blood Done Sign My Name, and Won’t Back Down.
In 2011, she appeared in the biographical drama film J.Edgar, directed by Clint Eastwood. Lind played the role of Shirley Temple. She worked alongside big Hollywood actors, Leonardo DiCaprio, Naomi Watts, and Armie Hammer.
From 2013 to 2019, the majority of Lind’s early film career involves starring in horror-thriller films, including The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia, Mockingbird, Lights Out, and Doctor Sleep.
Apart from her film roles, Lind got her TV debut for a single episode in the American daytime soap opera Days of Our Lives. Since then, Emily worked in various TV series, though mostly in minor roles. She appeared in Criminal Minds, Sunday at Tiffany’s, and November Christmas, to name a few.
