Born as Ksenia Anatolyevna Sobchak on November 5, 1981, she is a Russian politician, TV anchor, journalist, socialite and actress. Sobchak is the daughter of the first ever democratically elected mayor of Saint Petersburg, Anatoly Sobchak and Lyudmita Narusova, a Russian politician. She calls herself as being of part Jewish origins. Sobchak has also stated that she and her family faced anti-Semitism.
Sobchak attended the ballet school associated to the Mariinsky Theatre and the Hermitage Museum art school. In 1998, Sobchak left the school attached to Herzen University and joined the Saint Petersburg State University (Department of International Relations). In the year 2001, Sobchak relocated to Moscow and studied at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations. In the year 2002, Sobchak enrolled in a masters program at the department of politics at the same university.
Sobchak came to public notice as a host of the reality show Dom-2 on the Russian TV channel TNT. She is also an anchor at an independent TV channel “Rain” Dozhd.
Sobchak was the candidate chosen by Civic Initiative for the 2018 Russian Presidential election. She was only 36, and happened to be the youngest Russian presidential candidate ever.
Sobchak married Maksim Vitorgan (born on 10 September, 1972) in Moscow, RSFSR (USSR at that time). He is an actor famous for Mobius (2013), Bite the Dust (2013), and Dreamfish (2016). In the year 2016, Sobchak mentioned that if there was ever any possibility of political persecution of her, she would emigrate to or get an Israeli passport. She said: “I am a very big patriot. I really love my job, the city, my friends. And if tomorrow is war, then the place for emigration will have to be a Russian-speaking place. I have to work in Russian.”
