She may already be 51 years old, but actress Gabrielle Anwar still dons that bikini while going out for a swim or that sexy tight-fitting dress during award shows. Gabrielle Anwar was born on February 4, 1970, in a film industry setting. Her father, Tariq Anwar, is a film producer and editor, and it is one of the reasons why Gabrielle pursued acting. So, instead of going to college, Gabrielle studied dance and drama in London at a school called Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts.
Anwar began her first acting project in the miniseries, Hideaway, in 1986. Then she had her first film appearance in the 1988 film, Manifesto. In the same year, Anwar appeared in the British live-action/puppet series, The Storyteller, as Lidia. Gabriella continued appearing in TV shows until 1990 when she appeared in the children’s comedy-drama series, Press Gang. She played the character, Sam Black, and performed for a total of 12 episodes.
In 1991, Anwar appeared in another TV miniseries. She played the character Ada Corishant in the miniseries, The Mystery of the Black Jungle. Then, she shifted to movie opportunities when she portrayed a role in the movie, If Looks Could Kill, and the drama film, Wild hearts Can’t be Broken.
Aside from TV and movie projects, Anwar also tried music videos. She first appeared in Paul McCartney’s music video entitled Pretty Little Head in 1986. Her next music video appearance was in 1998, where Anwar played Eddie’s girlfriend in Tom Petty’s music video, Into the Great Wide Open. It was then the last time she appeared in a music video.
In 1992, Anwar went back to taking TV roles, appearing as a guest star in the famous TV series, Beverly Hills, 90210. She also made a turn in the horror film, Body Snatchers in 1993. Anwar continued her movie engagements and TV films from 1995 until 2000.
Then, in 2001, she went back to getting guest roles beginning with The Practice. She appeared as Katie Defoe in the episode entitled Dangerous Liaisons. In the same year, she appeared in a Brazilian horror film, Flying Virus. She starred in the TV film, Sherlock: Case of Evil, as Rebecca Doyle.
Her most extended TV appearances were on the TV series, Burn Notice. She is the main character, Fiona Glenanne, an unlicensed body hunter. She appeared in all of 111 episodes of the series.
With all of her busy schedule, Anwar still manages to have a workout routine to maintain that bikini body. Although she has that great body, she even clarified that she wouldn’t be posing for photos revealing her boobs or ass.
