Brooke Burns is an American actress and fashion model who rose to fame in the 1998 action series Baywatch. Many fans recognized her as the sexy Jessie Owens with her beautiful brunette hair in a one-piece red bikini.
Brooke Elizabeth Burns was born in 1978 in Dallas, Texas. Her family was very supportive of her passion for performing arts. For 12 years, she became a ballet dancer. However, after a skiing accident, Burns left ballet and began modeling at 15.
Burns began her acting career in the 1996 teen sitcom Out of the Blue as Peg. A year later, she appeared as a guest character in Conan the Adventurer and Ally McBeal.
In 1998, Burns got her big break when she starred in the action-drama series Baywatch as Jessie Owens. Since then, Burns never ran out of guest star roles on TV. She appeared in other series, such as Mortal Kombat: Conquest, Men, Women & Dogs, Modern Men, and CSI: Miami.
After Burns’ Baywatch stint, she landed on her film debut in the 2001 comedy film Shallow Hal. She played as Pretty and Ugly Katrina alongside Gwyneth Paltrow and Jack Black. She also starred in other films, such as Single White Female 2: The Psycho, Death to the Supermodels, and Where Hope Grows.
Aside from acting, Burns has established a reputation as a TV host. Her first hosting gig was in the American game show Dog Eat Dog. In 2008, she went back on hosting another game show called Hole in the Wall. She also hosted other shows, like The Chase and Motor City Masters.
Her most recent hosting project is the game show Master Minds that premiered last April 2020.
