1. Concentrate On The Ends

Unless you have really dry scalp, most of use don’t need the extra moisture conditioner provides on our roots. Our scalp naturally produces oil every day, so adding any extra can give your hair a greasy look, especially if you don’t shampoo every day. For the best results, try to apply your conditioner on the bottom 3/4 of your hair, really concentrating on the ends.

2. Spray Your Bobby Pins

Do your bobby pins tend to slide out? Mine do! In fact, I never use my bobby pins without a quick spray of hairspray or dry shampoo first. It gives them a little extra grip so you don’t have to worry about your hair style falling out.

Place your bobby pins on a paper towel or tissue, give them a light spray, and then allow them to dry for a minute or two before inserting them into your hair. This is especially helpful on fine, straight and thin hair.

3. Switch To Silk

I think that most of us sleep on a cotton pillow case, but there are so many benefits to switching to silk or satin. Not only is it better for your skin, but it does wonders for your hair! Cotton robs your hair of moisture, is more likely to cause bed head (especially if you have bangs), and is much harsher on your hair, causing damage and split ends. It doesn’t seem like it would make much of a difference, but we sleep on it every night, so it adds up. Silk and satin pillow cases also feel luxurious — definitely worth the extra expense!

4. Massage Your Scalp

Giving yourself a scalp massage in the shower every morning may seem like a waste of time, but it really does stimulate your hair growth and enhance the strength of your roots. So, if you’re growing your hair out, try to do this every day! Why not? It feels great! Did you know that the increased blood flow to your scalp from a massage can also put you in a better mood, reduce stress, and relieve pain by improving circulation? Sounds like it’s worth every minute.

5. Use a Wide-Tooth Comb

Oops! I’ve been making this mistake for years — combing the tangles out of my wet hair with a paddle brush. After washing your hair, use a wide-tooth comb to get those tangles out instead. The comb doesn’t tug and pull at your hair like a regular brush, so it safely and easily removes tangles with less damage. If you are really prone to tangles, consider leaving a comb in the shower, and use it while you still have conditioner in your hair to remove any stubborn tangles.

6. Fake a Super Long Ponytail

I wear a ponytail just about every day. How have I lived so long without knowing this secret?! There’s nothing sexier than a super long and full ponytail. 7. Use Spin Pins

If you like to put your hair up in a bun, you should give these pins a spin! It only takes two to hold up even the thickest of hair. This is a great alternative to using 3 dozen bobby pins to keep that perfect bun in place. I’ve purchased them from both Target and Walmart. I’m certain they are also sold online or at beauty supply stores.

8. Say Yes To Lazy Days

We all have those lazy days, where the idea of standing in front of the mirror messing with our mane is just not going to happen. Or, those morning when you wake up late and just don’t have the time. Quick tip: keep a spray bottle handy on your bathroom counter, and use it to quickly fix bed head. This is especially helpful if you have bangs like me! Sometimes I wake up and my bangs are sticking straight up. Instead of washing, drying and styling my hair, I just give my bangs a quick spray and then use a hair dryer and round brush to make them as good as new!

9. Fake A Fuller Ponytail

10. Brush Before You Wash

Most of us have never even considered the idea of brushing our hair before we jump in the shower, but it makes sense. 18. Dry Before You Style

When you place a heating tool on wet or damp hair, it creates very hot steam, and causes slow but inevitable damage. Before you break out your curling iron or flat iron, play it safe and make sure your hair is completely dry.

19. Put An End To Split Ends

Split ends have never been considered attractive because they are a sign of over processed, damaged and unhealthy hair. Yeah, you can snip those ends off, but that sure does make it hard to grow out your hair!

The good news: there are a few DIY hair masks made from simple ingredients (you probably already have these in your kitchen) that you can apply regularly without spending the big bucks on salon products. Hair is made up of a protein called keratin, so be sure to include plenty of protein in your diet to prevent the ends from splitting in the first place.

Here is my favorite all-natural “split ender”. Mix together one egg yolk, 3 tbsp of olive oil, and 1 tbsp of honey. Let this mixture sit on your ends for at least an hour before washing, and repeat every couple of weeks.

4. Thermal — these brushes work with your dryer, locking in heat. They create a faster drying time and allow you to easily curl and smooth your hair under.

5. Boar Bristled — These bristles are gentle and redistribute oils throughout your hair, bringing out its natural shine. They are ideal for fine to normal hair because they also give you a little extra oomph!

6. Skinny Round — This brush is great for bangs or short hair. It smooths your hair while drying and helps manage shorter pieces of hair.

But summer is a great period for people who are on a diet or just a fan of healthy eating. There is huge amount of fresh vegetables, fruits and berries! So if you want to try something new but healthy and tasty – these salad recipes are just for you. Hurry up and give them try! They require minimal or no cooking at all.

Number 1 – Avocado salad
This salad is the first on the list because of this fruit. Avocado is high in healthy fats, it may help prevent cancer and of course this fruit helps lose weight. So for the perfect avocado salad you need:
– 1 avocado
– 2 tomatoes
– 60g of mozzarella or feta cheese
– 10- 12 ounces fresh arugula
– Lettuce
You can dress this salad with olive oil or vinegar. It looks simple but ‘Oh My God’ how tasty it is!

Number 2- Grilled Peach, Onion and Bacon Salad
If you don’t afraid to experiment- try this popular salad. A combination of the ingredients may seem strange, but this salad is worth a try.
– 1 peach
– 1 pound thick-sliced bacon (or you can take chicken)
– 1 sweet onion
– Lettuce
The peach should be grilled for a better taste. Dress it with vinegar. Salt and pepper to taste.

Number 3 — Melon salad with ham

– 1 small melon
– 15-20 slices of jamon
– 10- 15 ounces fresh arugula or basil

– 10-15 baby mozzarella
Lemon juice as a dressing will be perfect for this one.

Number 4- Berry and Feta Salad
What? Berries in a salad? Yes, yes, yes! It’s simple, delicious and healthy. This salad will impress any of your guests, also it’s a perfect idea for a light lunch. Your berry options for this gem of a salad? – Everything you like: blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, dried cranberries..
– 2 cups of berries
– 50-60g of feta cheese
– Arugula and lettuce
– Greek nuts or almonds
Honey will be the ideal dressing for this salad. Add a little sweetness to your life.

Number 5 — Apple and Tuna Salad
For all seafood lovers! It’s the freshest salad with tuna. This fish has a lot of benefits for you: it helps prevent high blood pressure, it’s high in protein (good for skin, hair and nails), lowers the risk of heart disease; tuna improves the body’s immune system and much more.
– 2-3 apples
– 1 can of tuna
– Basil
– Greek nuts
This salad is a little oily, so lemon juice will be the best dressing. Tip: To cut the oiliness, use tuna that is packed in spring water instead of oil.

Number 6- Tomato and Watermelon Salad

Spinach… It sounded so scary in our childhood, but now we understand how many benefits spinach has. It’s the world’s healthiest food so don’t hesitate to add it to smoothies, omelettes and of course salads! So for the healthiest salad you need:

– 5- 8 cups baby spinach leaves
– 10 cherry tomatoes
– 1 garlic cloves, pressed
– 12-15 shrimps
– ½ small red onion
– Boiled eggs
Olive oil, vinegar, lemon juice will be good as a dressing.

Number 8 – Farro, Cherry, and Walnut Salad
Farro is a healthy whole grain, it’s full of minerals and is low in cholesterol. Farro is a quick-cooking dish. You can cook it with meat or fish as a garnish, but it’s really tasty in salads. So what you need:

Best Street Style Looks at the Governors Ball 2015

The Governors Ball is a 3 day music festival founded not so long ago, in 2011. In the few years of it’s existence it really grew to be a big NY summer event. It’s a must go for everyone who enjoys good music, good food and good company. The Governors Ball takes place in Randall’s Island Park, conveniently located between Manhattan, Queens and The Bronx and features an impressive array of music artist. This year the Governors Ball was headlined by Florence and the Machine, Lana Del Rey, Bjork, The Black keys, Drake and many other artists. No matter if you’re into rock, indie, hip-hop, pop, folk or electronic music – you’re bound to find something you like here. Same goes for food – there’s always a plethora of good restaurants and food trucks represented at the festival.
Fashion is also a big part of the festival, specifically street fashion. New Yorkers really know a thing or two about street style and they always bring something interesting into the mix. The festival ended just a few days ago, but Fashionistas all over the world are still talking about who wore what and what outfit was the best at the Governors Ball. So let’s review and see what were the most popular trends and best street looks at the Governors Ball.

There was a lot of denim at this years Governor Ball. Vests, overalls, dresses, anything you can think of – people wore it. There was even denim on denim, a combination we haven’t seen in decades. I guess the nineties are back.

Hats are always a big part of festivals. It’s a great way to stand out and really add smth to your outfit. Hats are a great way to make a fashion statement. They’re also great for protecting your head from sun stroke.

Maxi dresses of all types, textures and colours were featured by multiple fashionistas at the Governors Ball. It’s an easy and stylish option for a festival. You don’t have to worry about thinking what goes with what. Just put on a maxi dress and accessories. As a bonus – the will look good with heels and boots. So that’s up to you.

There was a fair few people with flower crowns. We get it, flower crowns are a festival must-have these days. They really do add a festive little note to any outfit. But since it’s a New York festival, witty New Yorkers were quick to remind those with flower crowns that it’s not Coachella and therefore not the same vibe.

Plaid shirts and checkered dresses were worn in the most unusual combinations and added some grunge to the whole event. Who knew you could wear them over dresses? But hey, if you can pull that off, why not?

Floral patterns were everywhere too. Dresses, shirts, rompers, jumpsuits. And why not? Floral is a great option for summer, it just brightens everything and makes everything looks summery.

Colorful hippie looking outfits were like a breath of fresh air. But not just any hippie outfits, NY hippies are different. They have an edge to them and they know how to work it. It was refreshing to see something that actually looked like it belonged at a music festival and wasn’t an evening outfit that’s dressed down with some combat boots.

When it comes to accessories – round glasses got a universal YES! from everyone. No surprise here, sunny summer days call for some shades and this year everyone went for round ones. Is it a homage to John Lennon? Or perhaps Ozzy Osbourne? We’ll never know. But they clearly won over the public. There were hardly any classic ray bans.

Since it’s a music festival we couldn’t ignore the crazy costumes either. There’s always some at any festival and the Governors Ball wasn’t an exception to the rule. I kind of wonder if this wolf ever ran into these sheep. That would be a real life fairy tale.

Last but not least – bags. Most people went with the usual over the shoulder bags or trendy backpacks, but this particular gem caught my attention. Doesn’t this just scream “Music Festival Bag” ?
