Born as Sofia Kristina Hellqvist on 6 December 1984, she is the wife of Prince Carl Phillip, Duke of Varmland. Before her marriage, Sofia used to be a glamour model and a reality TV contestant. She got married to Carl Phillip in the year 2015, and is the mother of their two children, Prince Alexander and Prince Gabriel, who are fifth and sixth in the line of succession to the Swedish throne, respectively.
She was born in 1984 at Danderyd Hospital in Danderyd to a Swedish mother named Marie Britt Rotman, and a Danish-Swedish father, Erik Oscar Hellqvist. She was christened on 26 May 1985 inTibble Church. She relocated to Alvdalen when she was six. She attended the Alvdalen Montessori School and Alvdal School. She studied arts at Vansbro Education Centre.
