Born on 16, May 1977 as Melanie Jayne Lynskey, she is an actress and voice actress from New Zealand. She has received a number of honors such as a New Zealand Film Award, a Hollywood Film Award, and a Sundance Special Jury Award, and she has also been nominated for Critics’ Choice Award, Gotham Award and Golden Nymph Award.
Lynskey debuted in the films when she was 17 years of age. Her first role was as a teenage murderer in Heavenly Creatures (1994). She went on to play lead roles in Happy Christmas, We’ll Never Have Paris (both in 2014), The Intervention, Rainbow Time, Little Boxes (all in 2016), I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore, And Then I Go (both in 2017), and Sadie (2018). She has now become a major personality in the American indie movie circuit.
Apart from films, Lynskey also became famous with her appearance as Rose on Two and a Half Men (2003-2015). From 2015 to 2016, she appeared as Michelle Pierson on HBO show Togetherness for which she was nominated for the Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. She also voiced Beatrice for Cartoon Network’s Over the Garden Wall (2014) and Megan for Disney XD’s Future Worm! (2016-2018). In the year 2018, she appeared as Molly Strand on the Hulu series Castle Rock. Lynskey is a the fiancée of actor Jason Ritter, and they have a child together.
