Born as Claudia Anne Winkleman on 15 January 1972, she is an English television presenter, model, film critic, radio personality and journalist. Winkleman was born to a Jewish family in London, the daughter of Eve Pollard, the former Sunday Express editor, and Barry Winkleman, the former publisher of Times Atlas of the World. She was three years old when her parents divorced and later they both remarried in 1979. Her mother married the former Daily Express editor, Sir Nicholas Lloyd and her father got married to children’s author Cindy Black.
Winkleman’s half-sister from her father’s second marriage is the actress Sophie Winkleman. She also has a younger half-brother named Oliver Lloyd, from her mother’s second marriage. She grew up at Hampstead, London and Winkleman received education at the City of London School for Girls and New Hall, Cambridge, getting a Master of Arts in Art History.
Between the year 2004 and 2010, she was the presenter of Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two on weeknights on BBC Two. Since the year 2010, she has been the co-presentr of Strictly Come Dancing’s main results show on Sunday nights with Tess Daly on BBC One. Since 2014, she has been a main co-host alongside Daly on the Saturday night live showos, after the departure of Sir Bruce Forsyth. She is a two-time nominee for the British Academy Television Award for Best Entertainment Performance for Strictly Come Dancing.
Winkleman presented Film..where she had replaced Jonathan Ross after he moved to ITV in 2010. She co-presented Let’s Sing and Dance for the first two series with Steve Jones. From 2013 and 2016, she presented a BBC Two series The Great British Sewing Bee.
She happens to be the highest paid woman at the BBC and earns between 450,000 to 499,999 British pounds annually, as per reports.
