Born on June 17, 1966, Christy Canyon is a former pornographic actress and American radio personality. She has been inducted into the AVN and XRCO Hall of Fame. Canyon has featured in more than 100 adult movies and effectively retired from performing for the camera thrice, as she shot movies from September 1984 to March 1985, June 1989 to December 1992 and 1995 to 1997 (under an exclusive contract for Vivid).
According to Canyon’s autobiography, the porn actor Greg Rome contacted her while she was waiting for a ride in Hollywood and told her that she could be a fantastic figure model. Between 2006 to 2011, she co-hosted the Sinus XM Satellite Radio’s Playboy Radio show Night Calls. In April 2011, she became co-host of Sirius XM’s Spice Sex Circus alongside Ginger Lynn and was the sole host of Sirius XM’s weekly Legends of Porn. She also co-hosted Radio Sex You Porn on Sirius/XM Channel 102, until October 2013 when the channel shut down. In December 2013, she started hosting The Christy Canyon Show on Vivid Radio on Sirius/XM Channel 102.
Canyon is now retired from working in adult films and dancing on the road, but, she still has an adult-associated career, focusing on her website, working as a host for Vivid Radio and selling merchandise on eBay and ABIBIDS. In the year 2003, she published her autobiography titled Lights, Camera, Sex and in November 2005, she appeared as a judge on the first season of Jenna’s American Sex Star.
The ABC News show Nightline featured her in an interview in 2010, in a segment titled Porn: When the Camera Stops as part of the series Modern Sex in America. Canyon has been married and divorced on three occasions and has two adopted children.
