Born as Cabau van Kasbergen on 19th March 1985, Yolanthe Cabau is a Spanish-Dutch actress, model and TV host. Cabau was born on the Spanish island of Ibiza. Her father, Xavier Cabau was a very rich entrepreneur famous as “King of Ibiza” and he owned a number of discotheques, restaurants and bars. Cabau’s early years were affected by domestic violence after her father started facing financial problems and became a drug-addict. At the age of five, her mother moved with her children to Netherlands. She has seven siblings and five half-siblings from her father’s second marriage. After graduating from high school at the age of 17, Cabau decided to become an actress.
Cabau featured in the Dutch production Snowfever (2004) and Costa (2005). From 2005 to 2008, she had a recurring role in a soap opera Onderweg naar morgen. In the year 2006, Sneijder-Cabau starred in a short film Turkse Chick, that was nominated for a Gouden Kaif, the Dutch equivalent of an Oscar. She is a real life WAG and featured in season three of the dramedy Voetbalvrouwen which is similar to the British series Footballers’ Wives. In the year 2006, 2007 and 2009, Sneijder-Cabau was voted by the Dutch FHM as the “Sexiest Dutch Woman.”
Cabau started romancing football player Wesley Sneijder in the year 2009. They married on 17 July 2010 in Tuscany, Italy, six days after Sneijder played in the final of the FIFA World Cup. They have a son together. After her marriage she changed her surname from Cabau van Kasbergen to Sneijder-Cabau and she also uses this name professionally.
She is a co-founder and ambassador of Stop Kindermisbruik, a foundation working towards eliminating child sexual abuse in developing countries. The organization is involved in things like freeing child prostitutes, preventing children from being forced into child prostitution, and helping the freed children overcome the trauma faced by them.
The couple announced their separation on March 5, 2019, but, clarified that they were not going to divorce for now. Yolanthe has since reverted to calling herself as Yolanthe Cabau.
