David and Valerie Callies welcomed Sarah Wayne Callies on June 1, 1977, in a village in Illinois. Both her parents are professors at the University of Hawaii, that was why her family had to move to Hawaii when she was still one year old. While she was attending grade school to high school, Sarah expressed her love for acting when she became active in their plays.
After Sarah graduated high school, she moved to New Hampshire to study at Dartmouth College. While in Dartmouth, she was still active in theatre. Right after Dartmouth, Sarah entered National Theatre Conservatory for her Master’s degree in Fine Arts.
Right after Sarah graduated from National Theatre Conservatory, she moved to New York in 2003 to get acting jobs. Luckily enough, Sarah got the role of Katie O’Malley in the TV series, Queens Supreme. She also got other minor characters for the motion picture series, Dragnet, and in Law and Order: Special Victims Unit.
Sarah’s last guest role was in the crime-drama series, Numbers before she got the part of the sexy Dr. Sara Tancredi in the famous serial-drama series, Prison Break. She appeared in the series from 2005 to 2009 and reappeared in season 4 in 2017. While doing her Prison Break role, she also got the opportunity to star in the film, The Celestine Prophecy. She also starred in the horror film, Whisper.
Callies reappeared in Queens Supreme in 2007 right before she reprised her role in Prison Break: The Final Break-in 2009. Then her most significant break on TV came when she starred in the post-apocalyptic series, Walking Dead. Callies appeared in the first three seasons of the series as Lori Grimes from 2010 to 2013. After her last episode in Walking Dead, Sarah thought that she was not going to have any TV roles, so she auditioned for movie roles instead. Luckily, she got a cast in the movies, Into the Storm in 2014, and Pay the Ghost in 2015.
In 2016, Sarah finally landed on a leading role in the science-fiction drama, Colony. She portrayed the character, Katie Bowman. After Colony got canceled in 2018, Sarah thought that she was not going to have more roles. She almost gave up on acting, until Walking Dead revived her character.
With Sarah’s whirlwind success in acting, it clearly shows that what she did is more than just showing some boobs and ass.
