Born as Marlijn Weerdenburg on April 1, 1983, she is a Dutch actress, presenter and singer who became famous in 2013 courtesy of her performance as Danni Lowinski in the eponymously titled series.
Weerdenburg studied music at the Brabant Conservatory in Tilburg and later at the Amsterdam Theater School and Kleinkunstacademie from where she graduated in the year 2008. During her student life, she played a role in children’s show ‘To Laugh Banned’ and performed in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany. In the year 2008, she appeared in the children’s show Vuil Kind by Stella The Hague.
She established her own band and gave performances in numerous theater festivals, and also on the theater festival Boulevard. In the year 2010, she was successful with her Christmas single that she had recorded with the band named Storybox. With Slikker, she went on to form the Miss Molly & Me duo and performed at the Ultmarkt, Theater festival Boulevard, the Fringe Festival, Eurosonic Groningen. They released a debut album Rewind and Say Hello in the year 2011.
In the year 2011, she appeared as Charlotte in a musical Soldaat van Oranje. In the year 2012, Miss Molly & Me will do the Rewind and Say Hello Theater Tour. From 2013 to 2016, she played lead role in the TV series Danni Lowinski. Weerdenburg appeared in the 15th season of Wie is de Mol?, starting from January 1, 2015. She eventually finished second, behind the final winner Rik van de Westelaken.
In the year 2015, she presented a program The Four Days Marches at SBS6. In the year 2016, she appeared in the RTL4 program It Takes Two where famous Dutch people sing live in a competition, and she finished second to Jan Versteegh. Since May 17, 2016, she has been the presenter of the TV program Broodie Gezond with Ersin Kiris. In 2017, she was the presenter of “Hotel Romantiek” program. In 2019, she launched her own solo singing performance “Marlijn Zingt.’
