Born as Brenda Lee Strong on March 25, 1960, she is an American actress. She was born in Portland, Oregon and raised in Brightwood. She graduated in 1978 from Sandy Union High School in Sandy, Oregon. She later relocated to Arizona to attend college and graduated from Arizona State University by earning a Bachelor of Music in musical theater. Strong won the Miss Arizona pageant in the year 1980, and she is a six feet tall woman.
Brenda started acting in television, and appeared in Twin Peaks, Party of Five, Seinfeld, and Sports Night. She used to be a regular cast member of sitcoms Scorch (19920 and The Help (2004). Strong also played supporting roles in various films such as Starship Troopers (1997), Black Dog (1998), The Deep End of the Ocean (1999), Starship Troopers 2: Hero of the Federation (2004) and The Work and The Glory (2004). She is renowned for playing the role of Mary Alice Young in the ABC TV comedy-dreama series, titled Desperate Housewives (2004-2012), and she received two Emmy Awards nominations for it. She later went on to appear as Ann Ewing in a TNT prime time soap opera Dallas (2012-2014).
In the year 2016, she played the recurring role of Lillian Luthor on Supergirl. Strong featured as a recurring character in the season two of the Netflix Original 13 Reasons Why, as Nora Walker, the mother of Bryce Walker. On September 7, 2018, she was promoted and became a series regular for the third season.
