Christina Rene Hendricks, also known as Christina Hendricks, was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, United States. She holds American nationality and has English ethnicity. Born under the zodiac sign of Taurus, Christina is the daughter of Jackie Sue and Robert Hendricks. Her mother worked as a therapist, while her father was employed by the United States Forest Service. Due to her father’s career, Christina grew up in different places.

From a young age, Christina developed an interest in modeling and acting. She participated in a local competition to appear on the cover of Seventeen magazine and signed with a modeling agency at the age of 18. She subsequently moved to New York City to pursue her career in the modeling and acting industry. After her family relocated to Fairfax, Virginia, Christina attended Fairfax High School. Christina is best known for her role as Joan Harris in the TV series Mad Men (2007-2015), for which she received critical acclaim and won a Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2012. Her performance in the series also earned her multiple award nominations, including four Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. Currently, Christina portrays the character of Chair in the American period sitcom Another Period (2015-present).
