In Indonesia’s most conservative province, ruled by Sharia law, punks are perceived as a threat to Islamic values. Thus local police stormed a punk rock concert and arrested over 60 fans. Young men and women were forced to shave their heads, take away body piercings, bathe in a lake, pray and get rehabilitation training in military-style discipline classes.
