The hangar that is 360 m (1,181 ft) long, 210 m (689 ft) wide and 107 metres (351 ft) high has been turned into an unbelievable indoor resort with human-made habitat. 29,000 tropical plants make an artificial rainforest. Exotic birds live there and natural rainforest sounds are broadcast through hidden speakers. There is also a beach, a waterpark and an artificial sun. Tropical Island Resort complex has a constant air temperature of 25 °C (77 °F) and is open all day, every day of the year.

Approximately 110 gallons of biodegradable foam poured from the ceiling of King Hangar at Eglin Air Force Base during the final test of the new fire suppression system. It took only two minutes for the 24 foam generators to fill the 90,000 square foot hangar with more than three feet of foam.
