Born on May 20, 1988 as Brittany Nicole Carpentero in Atlanta, Georgia, she is an American rapper and member of the group Crime Mob, better known as Diamond. Her mother is an African-American and her father is a Puerto Rican.


She was 15 years of age when Diamond joined the group Crime Mob in 2004. Crime Mob became known on the national level in 2004 with a single “Knuck If You Buck” which was platinum certified. Their debut album ‘Crime Mob’ released during the summer of that year and their next chartbuster single “Rock Yo Hips” was released in August 2006, and it was followed by another album Hated on Mostly, in March 2007.

Diamond left Crime Mob in November 2007 to focus on a solo career. In the year 2010, she was seen in the remix version of “My Chick Bad” a single by Ludacris along with Trina and Eve. Her debut solo single “Lotta Money” released in the summer of 2010, and the single’s video included Gucci Mane. In the year 2011, Diamond released a song “Hit That Hoe” featuring Waka

Flocka, and a video was released in August, 2011. In November 2011, Diamond’s single “Buy It All” was released on BET’s 106 & Park. Diamond received a nomination for the Best Female Hip Hop Artist at the BET Awards, 2011. Diamond released another single “Loose Screws” in 2012. She received her second Best Female Hip-Hop Artist nomination at the BET Awards 2012.

Diamond released her next album The Young Life on August 28, 2012 including the singles “American Woman” – featuring Verse Simmonds and “Love Like Mine” featuring Nikkiya. Diamond is expected to feature as a cast- member for the Oxygen docu-series Sisterhood of Hip-Hop.
